Research Participants Wanted - Monetary Compensation Provided

Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences
August 4, 2013

We are looking for heterosexual couples to participate in a study of depression, relationships and emotions.

The purpose of this study is to examine the emotions and feelings of partners in romantic relationships who are or are not experiencing depressive symptoms. Symptoms of depression (e.g. changes in sleep, changes in eating, loss of pleasure, etc.) are typically thought of as an individual experience; meaning, only the person that has depression is affected. However, depression can also impact close, romantic others. Eligible couples will come to the Lang Laboratory at the University of Arizona where they will be videotaped talking together about their relationship. The total time required is approximately three hours.

An Institutional Review Board responsible for human subjects research at the University of Arizona reviewed this research project and found it to be acceptable. This means that it is acceptable according to applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please send an email to raison-lab@email.arizona.edu.
