Retirement Ceremony for Commander Kevin Haywood

UAPD Chief Anthony Daykin
February 22, 2013

Please join the members of the University of Arizona Police Department on March 14 as the UAPD honors Commander Kevin Haywood at his retirement ceremony.

Haywood is retiring from the department after serving the UA for the past 30 years. He began his law enforcement career in 1977 with the Miami, Ariz., Police Department, and then with the Globe, Ariz., Police Department before joining UAPD in 1983.

During his tenure at UAPD, Haywood has risen through the ranks, from police officer to corporal, then sergeant, lieutenant and commander. He has served as UAPD's accreditation manager, public information officer, and commander for both the Field Operations Division and the Field Support Division.

A reception honoring Haywood will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 14 in the Tucson Room of the Student Union Memorial Center. A formal presentation will begin at 4 p.m. The UAPD hopes the campus community will be able to attend to celebrate with Haywood his many years of service to the University and the law enforcement community.
