Notice of Proposed Policy Revision:

POLITICAL ACTIVITY AND LOBBYING POLICY

Pursuant to the University Policy-Making Policy, the following action is proposed:

ADOPTION OF POLITICAL ACTIVITY AND LOBBYING POLICY REVISION

SUMMARY: This Policy provides guidance to University employees regarding political activity on campus, based on state statutes and ABOR policy. 

Reason for Revisions to Policy:

  • Move policy from "Interim" status to "Permanent" status.
  • Provide clearer guidance to University employees as to the types of political activity which are permitted and prohibited on campus, and the requirements applicable to certain types of activities.
  • Updates to (i) definitions, (ii) expert testimony language, and (iii) FAQs specific to employees to also include reference to DCCs.

A copy of the proposed revised Political Activity and Lobbing Policy is available for review on the University Policies website located under the Policies Under Consideration section.

Members of the University community are invited to submit written comments located in the Feedback section located at the bottom of the policy.

Comments are requested to be submitted by close of business on Monday, November 28, 2022.

Please note: Stakeholder feedback is available to the Policy Office, Policy Sponsor, and elected shared governance representatives, upon request, for policies impacting the populations they represent.
