Notice of Revised Policy

University of Arizona

Notice of Proposed Revised Policy:

RESPONDING TO ALLEGATIONS OF RESEARCH MISCONDUCT POLICY

Pursuant to the University Policy-Making Policy, the following action is proposed:

ADOPTION OF REVISIONS TO THE RESPONDING TO ALLEGATIONS OF RESEARCH MISCONDUCT POLICY

SUMMARY: This Policy defines research misconduct and the scope of allegations of research misconduct that will be considered under the Policy. The associated procedures detail how the University responds to allegations of research misconduct.

The current "Investigations of Misconduct in Scholarly, Creative, and Research Activities Policy" is more than 10 years old and is long overdue for updating. The proposed revisions aim to rename the Policy, streamline, clarify, and simplify the Policy, and reduce faculty burden. The procedures are decoupled from the Policy.

A copy of the new policy is available at the University Policies website at policy.arizona.edu.

Members of the University community are invited to submit written comments.

All comments must be received by close of business on February 6, 2023.

Please note: Policy feedback is available to the Policy Office, Policy Sponsor, and elected shared governance representatives, upon request, for policies impacting the populations they represent.
