The Office of Research, Innovation & Impact is pleased to announce that Paul Sandoval, director of Post Award Services within Sponsored Projects Services, will take the new position of director of research advancement in Research Development Services effective Jan. 3.

In this new position, Sandoval will have overarching responsibility for the administrative management of research programs and functions flowing through the Office of Global Projects and Defense Offsets. He also will manage award administration for assigned projects, including interaction with sponsors. Sandoval has worked in various Sponsored Projects roles at the University of Arizona since 1992.

Marcel Villalobos, assistant director of Post Award Services since 2017, will now lead Post Award operations. Villalobos has worked in Sponsored Projects since 2004.
