The Cardiovascular Health and Respiratory Training (CHART) Study is a Phase II Clinical Trial at the University of Arizona to evaluate the effects of a novel home-based exercise intervention on sleep and blood pressure. We are seeking adults 50+ years who have above-normal blood pressure and suspected or diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea.

The novel intervention is known as Respiratory Muscle Training which is performed on a hand-held device and takes ~5 mins/day to complete. Training is performed at home over a 24-week period. Participants receive their own breathing trainer, routine health monitoring, blood panels, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, and results of an at-home overnight sleep study. Compensation of up to $900 is provided to eligible participants.

If interested, please contact us at (520-626-0836) or complete our brief interest questionnaire.
