Skin Cancer Prevention Study Seeking Research Volunteers
The Skin Cancer Institute and Skin Cancer Prevention Program are creating a sample repository, or "bank," to be used for future research to better understand the biology and treatment of skin cancer. We are seeking participants, 18-80, with a history of Actinic Keratoses (AK) or "pre-cancers." They are asked question about their medical history and risk factors. Small amounts of blood and small skin samples are collected.
Compensation for time and travel will be provided to qualified study participants.
The study is sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and conducted by the University of Arizona Cancer Center. An Institutional Review Board responsible for human subjects research at the University of Arizona reviewed this research project and found it to be acceptable, according to applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of research subjects.
