Summer Science Saturday – 'Our Sun,' July 14

Lunar and Planetary Laboratory

The Lunar and Planetary Laboratory's (LPL) free, annual, open house is scheduled for Saturday, July 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Gerard P. Kuiper Space Sciences building, 1629 E. University Blvd.

This year's event will feature the Sun and the upcoming NASA Parker Solar Probe Mission, slated for a summer 2018 launch.

The event will include all-day exhibits on the mission, and children's activities.

11:00 a.m. lecture:

LPL Professor Joe Giacalone, Co-Investigator for the Integrated Science Investigation of the Sun instrument on the Parker Solar Probe, will present a lecture, "Parker Solar Probe: A Mission to Touch the Sun."
