Wildcat Student Employment Fair – August 26

The Wildcat Student Employment Fair (WSEF) is on Wednesday, August 26, just three days after the start of the fall semester. However, students are looking for jobs in Handshake, right now.

If you hire students, we urge you to register now for the WSEF and post your open positions in Handshake. As WSEF is a virtual fair, students cannot just swing by your table. Employers must first register and create sessions or appointments, which students then sign up for. There are two kinds: an individual or 1:1 appointment is 10 minutes with you and one student; group sessions are more like information sessions, are 30 minutes and hold up to 50 students.

How you can help:

• If you want to participate in the WSEF, register in Handshake.
• If you planned on registering and posting jobs eventually, we encourage you to do it this week instead.
• If you've never posted jobs in Handshake before, do it this year!
  • If you do not have a department account (or don't know if you do) and would like one, learn what you need to do.
  • If you don't know how to post a job in Handshake, we'll show you how.
  • If your office needs training, reach out to our business analyst John Potenza.

We know that posting jobs takes time and it's just one more task on a long list of tasks. And we don't want to oversell its importance, but you never know what the deciding factor will be for a student. We owe it to them as a campus to help make their decision as easy as possible.
