Nominations are Open for Women of Impact 2023

During Women's History Month in 2022, the Office of Research, Innovation & Impact (RII) announced the Women of Impact initiative – an effort to recognize women researchers, innovators, and community organizers who, through their research and innovation at the University of Arizona, are laying the groundwork for a brighter future.

Building upon the success of our inaugural event, we are thrilled to present our second annual Women of Impact celebration, scheduled for October 19, during which we will name a new cohort and continue to recognize remarkable achievements.

We invite you to nominate a remarkable Woman of Impact.

Anyone from the University of Arizona community can nominate a faculty or staff member who has significantly contributed to our identity as a world-class research enterprise. Our selection committee will carefully select award winners based on their commitment to our mission and values, their skills in driving discovery and innovation, their community impact and their willingness to empower others, thus paving the way for lasting change.

As part of our commitment to celebrating women making an impact at the University, across the state and around the world, we embrace the transformative power of diversity and equity and recognize contributions made by cisgender, transgender and all who identify.

We encourage you to reflect on the following pillars when compiling your candidate's nomination package:

  • Faculty and staff who are women laying the groundwork for a better future.
  • Application of unique skillset in support of discovery and innovation.
  • Fostering community and collaboration between colleagues across the university and/or external partners.
  • Utilization of knowledge or rank to empower and mentor others and promote change.
  • Commitment to our identity as a world-class research enterprise.
  • Commitment to the University of Arizona's mission and values.
