You are invited to Women's Equality Day event hosted by the Department of Gender & Women's Studies, AAUW-Tucson, Women's Studies Advocacy Council (WOSAC), and League for Women Voters. Friday, August 26th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona (5049 E Broadway Blvd #201, Tucson, AZ 85711).

Women's Equality Day celebrates the achievements of women’s rights activists and reminds us of the unique daily struggles that women face.

Join us for appetizers & drinks and the opportunity to learn more about how you can support local women and girls in the community while meeting like-minded people at our Women's Equality Day Mixer. Hear from community members on their experiences and visit tables of organizations working towards gender equity.

Tables with information from local organizations like WOSAC & League of Women Voters of Great Tucson. We collaborate to advocate for Women's Equality 

  • Women make 84 cents on the dollar compared to men in Arizona
  • Only 27% of Congressional Representatives and Senators are women
  • Until 1988, you could refuse to rent to a woman in the U.S. with children
  • 18 – the # of countries where husbands can legally prevent their wives from working

Help us move the needle on gender equity for women.

Through our Salary Negotiation Courses, scholarships for Higher Education, and investing in local programs, AAUW Tucson is excited to host this event bringing together our community to support each other.
