The 11th annual "On Our Own Time" art exhibit and competition, which showcases paintings, photos, sculptures and other art works created by University employees and their family members, is happening virtually this year.

From now until Feb. 28, you can check out the submissions online. There are nearly 200 entries – with a record number coming from outside Tucson, said Pamela Wagner, an administrative associate at the UA RISE Health and Wellness Center and co-coordinator of "On Our Own Time."

The participating artists are competing for cash prizes in five categories: professional, intermediate, amateur, teen and youth.

"On Our Own Time" is coordinated by the University's Employee Recognition Committee and is sponsored by the National Arts Program, which provides materials and funding for awards.

The winners will be announced in the Feb. 10 issue of Lo Que Pasa.

Some of last year's winning entries can be seen in this gallery.
