The UA Department of Biomedical Engineering will sponsor the Virtual Reality and Healthcare Symposium 2019, scheduled for March 7-8 at the Student Union Memorial Center. See the full schedule.

The symposium will feature more than 60 speakers, including:

  • Walter Greenleaf, behavioral neuroscientist and a medical technology developer at Stanford University
  • Carrie Shaw, CEO and founder of Embodied Labs, a virtual reality platform for healthcare services workforce training
  • Dr. Marvin J. Slepian, is a UA professor of medicine, professor and associate department head of biomedical engineering and a McGuire Scholar in the Eller College of Management
  • Christopher Peri, senior director of virtual and augmented reality at Samsung
  • Tim Mauri, director of technology and innovation at the Johnson & Johnson Institute

The symposium also will feature exhibits by companies and UA units.
